Question:

Hi there! Can you please tell me why keywords are important and when do you use them? Are they used in my narration of my blog?
Thank you.

Answer:

When someone generally talks about keywords they refer to keyword phrases that people type into the search engines when they’re looking for information.

For example, if you didn’t know that wealthy affiliate existed and wanted to learn about it, you might type the keyword phrase …

wealthy affiliate review

OR

wealthy affiliate scam

OR

wealthy affiliate university.

Using a keyword tool I am able to determine how many searches are made per month for a given keyword phrases.

From there, I need to determine whether I could rank in the search engines by checking the competition.

Here’s an example of what I mean using the free WA keyword tool in the left-hand menu.

For a relatively new site you would go after low competition keywords.

Okay, so now you’ve determined what keywords your audience is typing into the search engines, you now have to write an article on your blog that uses that keyword in both the title and body of the article.

That way Google will rank your webpage for that keyword and when a person types that keyword phrases into the search engines your webpage will turn up (eventually).

Not sure if you’ve done the lesson in level 2 yet, but here’s the link for keyword training.
