So what drives a person who already has become successful in the eyes of the majority, to continue to push and strive for excellence in their field?
I’ve actually always been interested in understanding the answer to this question because, I mean, why does a person who is a millionaire strive to become a multi-millionaire.
Can’t only be about the money – can it?
Same thing applies to someone who’s a multi-millionaire who strives to become a billionaire.
I mean, isn’t a million dollars enough?
Isn’t owning one or two cars enough?
Isn’t one house enough, I mean you can only live in one at a time – right?
So as I thought about this, I read somewhere that when you start making the “big bucks” (like becoming a multi-millionaire for example) then it’s no longer about the money, but more about the growth.
And not just trying to grow your bank account either, but instead striving for personal growth.
Whether that’s true or not I dunno.
Kinda sounds like a Tony Robbins seminar to tell you the truth.
But, let’s say you were to entertain this idea for a little bit.
Say you want to become the go to guy for the mobile phone. Not just any mobile phone, but a specific mobile phone, say the iPhone.
Whilst you business is focused on selling iPhones, the main reason people come to you is because you’re the go to guy for iPhones.
They come to you because they feel that they can trust you and your opinion.
So your focus is more on providing solutions for them as opposed to just selling iPhones.
You’ll sell iPhones as a result, but you’re not driven by the sale.
When your focus is about providing value as opposed to “how can I make money” then
So let’s say you wanted to be the go to guy for car tyres
As you got better at
And not just growing your bank account either, but it’s more about challenging yourself to become better in a select number of areas.
For example, I wrote recently about becoming really good at one task that will attributes to 80% of your online successs.
Which means that if you did nothing else, but become really good at that one task then you’ll improve your life.
So if you think of it in that way, then you’ll always be pushing to excel in all your endeavors.
You’ll never be competing with anyone else but yourself.
And in improving these areas the other areas grow as well.
Now when I think in terms of growth, then all of the tasks that I endeavor to complete, whether it be for my business or my personal life, I approach
